Privacy Policy
At The First National Bank, the basis of each customer relationship, many of which span generations, is trust. You have chosen to do business with The First National Bank and we are obligated to honor that relationship with great care, beginning with the nonpublic personal information you share with us. We believe that your privacy should not be compromised. At the same time, we want to offer you the array of financial products and services you need to accomplish your financial goals. We believe we can do both through the privacy policy outlined below.
We recognize that you have a right to expect your nonpublic personal information to remain private and secure. This policy serves as the standard all First National Bank employees will follow in the collection, use, retention and security of your nonpublic personal information.
What Information We Collect
We collect "nonpublic personal information" about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms,
- Information about your transactions with us or others, and
- Information we receive from third parties such as credit reporting agencies.
“Nonpublic personal
information” is nonpublic information about you that we obtain in connection
with providing a financial product or service to you. For example, nonpublic
personal information includes information regarding a deposit, your account
balance, and your loan payment history.
We recognize the
importance of protecting children’s identities and privacy online. Our web site
is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect or maintain personal
information from children.
What Information We Share
We are permitted under
law to disclose nonpublic personal information about you to third parties in
certain circumstances. For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal
information about you to third parties to assist us in servicing your account or
loan with us, to government entities in response to subpoenas and to credit
reporting agencies. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about
our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law or
required by law.
Our Confidentiality and
Security Procedures (see also our Security Statement)
At The First National
Bank, employee access to nonpublic personal information is limited to those with
a business reason to know such information. (For example, to those employees who
will provide our products and services to you). Employees are trained on the
importance of maintaining the confidentiality of nonpublic personal information
and on these privacy principles. Because of the importance of these issues, all
First National Bank employees are responsible for maintaining the
confidentiality of customer information and employees who violate these privacy
principles may be subject to disciplinary measures up to and including
termination of employment.
