To assist customers with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives and processes customer financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers checks to customers; transfers amounts from customer accounts as directed.
Welcomes customers and provides routine information concerning services and directs customers to appropriate departments for specific information and service.
Post transactions to customer accounts and maintain customer records.
Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
Cross-sells bank services.
Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.
Other duties as assigned.
To provide friendly, professional, personal service to all customers.
To balance correctly in a timely manner.
To handle bank transactions as needed and set by performance evaluation goals.
To strive for posting accuracy, measurement to be determined by department manager and to be measured in employment performance evaluation goals.
To troubleshoot and resolve customer and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
To excel in Customer Service by making sales referrals daily.
To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require come discussion. Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.
The employee must be able to handle and count money, reach with hands and arms and be able to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand and/or sit. The employee is required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch approximately 1/3 or the work time and move up to 25 pounds approximately 1/8 of the work time. Specific vision abilities required include close vision distance vision and color vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
