New Accounts Position
Pay Grade 6 ($23576 - $35364)
To assist customers and potential customers with their banking needs; explains services, sets up new accounts, responds to problems, and directs customers to the appropriate people.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists customers with opening and closing accounts, answers questions about products and services and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve.
Refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations.
Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sells services to customers. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Assures that appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared.
Maintains customer account information on computer system.
Acts as liaison between customers and various departments.
To provide accurate, prompt, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all customers, assist customers in the lobby immediately; answer telephone and responds to messages in a timely manner. To process customer transactions with minimal errors. To develop knowledge and skill in Customer Service areas. To maintain a dependable records of attendance and timeliness. To troubleshoot and resolve customer and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner. To cross sell new products. To maintain a professional work environment and business like appearance.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED
Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
